    Re: I got APPROVED !!

    I mean we did :)

I just called BofA and we got approved for BofA Classic card ( I think ). The rep couldn't find what the credit limit was but ... WHO CARES now :)

I'm so happy .... So, should we now add me as na AU user to one of her other credit cards ?

Can you guys help me removing the ANBCC lates ? Should I first try to write so called "good will" letter and if that doesn't help keep desputing ?

    What do you think ?

Thank you guys so much ...

    Re: I got APPROVED !!

Well, ...... not so good news it turned out ...

I was kind of thinking for a while and figured that if we were approved for an unsecured card she would know about the credit line .... i was right. I called back and rep told me that we were approved for secured card ... :( I think when we applied they put my name as the primary holder ( all BofA accounts were on my name as primary ) so they kind of took a look at mine credit more then hers i assume. Well, I'll probably call the menager at the bank and ask her to reconsider the application one more time and put some info that could change the "high" position people's mind ... She already did that for us when we applied for personal loan ( and of course I was the primary holder - she explained that I have some late payments, etc, etc. and that's why we didn't get approved but she called them couple of times and got the loan approved. I hope this time it'll help too :)

Ehhh, not so easy huh ?
    That's sux

I'm glad that you got approval for secured card. After a year, you can request to unsecure your secured card. Did they tell you how much amount you deposit into secured savings account? By the way, BofA is tough to approve for their credit cards.

    Re: I got APPROVED !!

I'm going to call the manager tomorrow (she's not in today) and see what she can do. If not I'll do the secured one. The minimum deposit is $250 up to $10000. 250-5000 for Gold and 5000-10000 for Platinum. We are going now to get the personal loan at Citi and add later add me to Universal Platinum ATT card of my wife (AU ).

The ATT Universal Platinum is a great card to be AU on. My wife added me to hers early on in my repair journey. It reports an AU to all three bureaus and reports the limit.

    Re: I got APPROVED !!

So, when adding myslelf to ATT should we give out my SS#?

And one more time, you think writting this good will letter to Associates National Bank will do any good ?

    Follow Up

Well, we called them (ATT Universal Card) and they asked my wife for my SS# and said the card will be mailed out to me and be here in 5-7 business days.
I hope everything goes all right.

Also, I decided to give it a shot and sent out the "goodwill letter" to Associates and .... we will see.

Tomorrow, I'll beg the manager of the BofA bank for reconsideration on the credit card application.
    Wish me good luck.

Thank you guys for all the info and help.

    Re: Follow Up

Okay, so I called BofA but the lady was kind of ... "what's going on ?" and said they would not reconsider the application. The mistake was that when applying I was as primary member and my wife as sec. Damn :( Kinda missed that.

They wouldn't take a reversed application - my wife primary, me - secondary, but after 6 months they would...

They still offered me secured card - I'm still thinking.

So, is it that hard to even ask them to reconsider the application ? How is that work ?

Goshh, i don't know what to do ... should I go with that secured one or should I keep fighting ?

    Thanks

BTW, 7 more days till Discover falls off of my TU report. Experian still investigating - 16 more days to go. Equifax already dropped it ( it's been 43 days after disputed ). Hope this letter to ANBCC will do some good. They keep verifying it on all 3.

    Re: Follow Up

    damianlr,

I don't know it's up to you. If they don't reconsider your application, nothing you can do. If you take the secured card, you make agood payment with secured. You may have a chance to get unsecured card after a year. You asked them whether they report your account to credit bureau or not before you open your secured account.

    Good Luck.

    Re: Follow Up

Ok, I think i'll get the BofA secured card. She said they will raise my limit after 6 months and give me the deposity back after a year. I'm trying to get my lates removed from MC and if I did that, so she said I would probably get the deposity much faster.

Anyway, could you tell me one thing ?

Is it better NOW if I pay the balance in full or carry the balance and pay more then minimum monthly??
I mean NOW when building ( establishing ) the credit.
My balance will be $500 and I'll keep adding to it 'til I get my lates removed.

    Please help.

Will this one secured CC, personal loan and AU on ATT Platinum with perfect history be enough for now ?

    Re: Follow Up

    damianlr,

I used to have charge-off accounts in my credit reports. It took me years to clean up and rebuild my credit. I have a couple of secure card accounts from Capital One and FCNB. I made payment on-time every month and they report my history to credit bureau. I started to apply for gas card and dept store and they approved me. I used it and pay it on time. At the same time, I dispute charge-off acounts in my credit report. As soon as all the charge-off accounts came off afteer seven yrs and I applied for prime card. I got approved one after one. Rebuilding credit cannot be done in a day and it take years to do it. I made myself to pay it off monthly and I showed it to the creditors that I can pay my bill for earning their trust. To get one more secured card this way to show them that you can pay.
I don't know secured card, personal loan and AU will do and it depends on the creditor's requirement. Sometimes they need at least three or four tradelines in order to qualify for carloans, mortgage,or credit cards. FCNB is another good secured card and I had an secured account with them for two yrs. They give you up to 5 times more credit than your deposit. They approved almost everyone. They unsecured your account after a year and they returned your deposit plus increase your credit limit. Re: Follow Up

    Thanks Ron for the info.

I went ahead and got approved for BofA secured individual card - on the same inquiry as last aplication. I put $500 in for now. I just hope that If I get lucky and get those lates removed I may qualify for credit increase ( as told by the manager - after 6 months ). I just want to build solid credit history and I know it doesn't take months but years. I've had that ANBCC for almost 4 years and If I get that lates removed that may help me a lot. I also got that loan paid off and have another one currently but for lower amount ( CITI ). I'm also trying to build a banking history with Citibank (we have "Everything Counts" account with 2 CD's, money market and checking acc. ) so I hope that in the near future I'll be offered CC, maybe even this year. Come on, my scores are not that bad! I'm close to be in the 600 club all the WAY ! :)

    damianlr,

Your 600 scores is not too bad and you just only have late payment. If you can get late payment off your credit report, you will be in good shape. My advice is to get one more secured card like FCNB and it helps you much faster tor ebuild your credit . It 's entirely up to you. Good Luck.

Ron, do you think I would be able to get Target Guest card?

I think I should probably wait 'til ATT and BofA starts reporting, but should I be able to ?

Still thinking about another secured card ( maybe Wells Fargo ).

    damianlr,

Why don't you get FCNB secured Mastercard? They are easiest one to get and they approved almost everyone including charge-off,BK,charge-off. I don't know you can get Target Card. I think you wait a couple of months.
