    Hi all,
me again! Here's my other problem. My dh was self-employed from 1995-1999 and had to pay Net profits and business privilege taxes to the city of philly. we couldn't pay all and had to make arrangements in fall '98 to pay. Didn't receive any bills after downpayment and couldn't make anymore payments until Jan. '99. Called when we received default notice and explained situation to rep. and was told that default was null and void because they didn't have all tax returns. Sent all returns in again and made new arrangements. All amounts on new bill were wrong.

I called again and was told to send in another set of returns. Sent another set. Made payments on wrong amount because was told it would get straightened out. Couldn't afford to make anymore payments a few months later.

Got sent to NCO(yeah, them) Feb. '00. They had wrong amounts. Sent NCO letter (wrong amounts and dealing with orig. creditor only, etc.) Called rep. back at City of Philly dep. of rev. Was told did not receive new set I sent out in '99. BTW everything sent return receipt certified. Had questions about business privilege taxes. Called rep.and was told to call accounting dept. They told me didn't have to pay BPT. Cool!!!

Sent out new set (3rd time!!!!)with right figures. Made new payment arrangements. Started to pay. Interest and penalty piling up. Money problems again. Couldn't afford to pay. Dec. 2001 received collection notice from "lawyer" but it said we owed for Use & Occupancy Tax and no amount given. Sent validation letter stating we don't owe this tax (we didn't) also sent letter to City of Philly explaining situation for past 3 1/2 yrs. and can interest & penalty be waived and sent return receipts, all correspondence with rep, NCO stuff, cancelled checks(front/back) and 4th set of tax returns. Waiting to here back from them when...

"Lawyer" sent new letter with Net profit taxes owed with amount and did not answer validation letter. Went online to find sample cease and desist letter. Found this forum.

Should I send 2 letters? Cease and Desist and 2nd validation letter? or combine both onto one?

    Sorry soooooooo long!
    Thanks

Send C&D and Estopple letter because they failed to validate from CRRR Validation #1. Whether they are separate or sent in the same envelope does not matter but I would not "combine" the 2 into one document. I would sent both in the same CRRR envelope. Sounds like you are doin fine. Good luck.

    Thanks Dave!

BTW- this has never been reported on my dh's credit report and we don't want it to ever get there. Also what does CRRR mean?
    Thanks again,
    Peace in Christ,

    Certified return receipt requested.
you need the this to prove they got what you sent them.
