Will a new mortgage drop my scores? if so for how long?

My scores went up 18-20 points when my mortgage posted.

I think FICO sees homeownership as stability.

From our experience scores went down unfortunately once it hit. We just made our first payment due on the 1st. I think it just varies.

Hubbies EQ went down from 689 to 618! Ouch! But experian fico only went down from 712 to 689. I think I've read on here that it rebounds again soon after though.

I recently obtained a sizeable HE Loan which was reported on my credit last week - mine remained unchanged, my wife's score dropped a few points.

I'm still waiting to see. I closed on my house back in August and it's still not reporting. I called PFG and asked them about it a couple weeks ago and they said to give it 90 days from the 1st payment. In that case, I'm looking at Jan 1st for it to report. This may well be to my advantage. By the time it reports, I will have made at least 4 payments. That should hopefully negate any drop I might would initially experience from a new TL being added. I'll report back w/ results.
