I have a collection account that appears on my Trans U. report, but not the other two. The other two bureaus removed the listing when I disputed it for the first time.
I am 99% sure this account doesn't belong to me. I am concerned that if I contact the CA for validation the listing will be stuck back on my Eq and Ex reports.
There is no seperate listing on my report from the OC either. The CA is NCO; but they also list NCO Portfolio Funding as the OC. Please advise. Thanks for your help.

Can we please trade placed for a week? It is a violation of FCRA for a CRA to place a previously-deleted entry back INTO your file without (a) verification from teh creditor that it is valid and accurate and (b) written notification to you and (c) no more than five (5) days after the expiration ofthe 30-day deletion period. So.... if it shows back up, send an ITS letter to each CRA tat puts it there.

Now... you should immediately demand validation from the CDA. That puts them in the position of either prove it, drop it or get sued. If they prove it, then you will have hard evidence of whether it is your sor not. If they drop it, then you dispute it with the remaining CRA. If the CRA then finds it "verified" you sue the CA for continued collection action without complying with the validation letter.
