I'm going to switch to another type of Citibankcard before they transfer me to Bank One. About a month ago, Bank One closed all my accounts with them and I won't let it happen again. Ron.
Looks like Bank One has been very aggressive in this area. Did they not do a Starbucks one last month and a Disney one a few months back? Best regards, Mirage
I have a Sony card but I really really want a Starbucks card. Do you think I could transfer to that once Sony Cards are Bank One?
Don't know the answer to that one. Try asking George he has positive dealings with Bank One than most of us here has. Best regards, Mirage
Re: Re: New Sony Card from Bank One!!!!!!!! I have had GOOD and BAD with BANK ONE/FIRST USA over the years...
Re: Re: Re: New Sony Card from Bank One!!!!!!!! They probably will let you TRADE "IF" it is the same "KIND" of card... Wouldn't let my wife trade UNITED VISA for a different card...BECAUSE it is a SIGNATURE CARD...(stated limit)---but it can be exceeded (LIKE AMEX GREEN/GOLD/PLATINUM) cards...
Good luck on trying to switch. I was consistently told by Citi that they couldn't convert my Sony account as their agreement with Bank One required them to give over a portfolio of a certain size. I gave it a month or so and was able to convert it to a AT&T Universal Platinum Card. I had to call and get declined for the Universal though before they'd allow me to switch (my credit lines are at the max for my income apparently).
do you know why you needed to be denied for an att universal card before getting approved to transfer from the sony card? what did you say to them?
Re: New Sony Card from Bank One!!!! I called Citi two different times to convert into another type of Citibank cards. They told me that I cannot convert to another type of Citicards. Ron.
Re: New Sony Card from Bank One!!!! Does this apply to the Sony Financial Services card? This is the card that's issued through Household when you select Sony's financing option at www.sonystyle.com. Thanks. CardKid
Re: New Sony Card from Bank One!!!! Cardkid, It is financing plan by Household Bank and it is a co-branded Mastercard. It is currently issued by Citibank and will be issued by Bank One next February. Ron.
Re: New Sony Card from Bank One!!!! i don't think so. the sony card is just a branded citi card in which you get points towards sony products. it appears what you are talking about is to actually purchase sony products without paying upfront for the entire purchase.
Re: New Sony Card from Bank One!!!! I will not miss the card considering I went to their site to purchase another Vaio notebook. Then, I went to eBay and found the same notebook for $474 less - brand new and covered under the Sony warranty (Sony Vaio 505DX w/wireless capability sells for $1899 at Sony's site). The seller has a feedback rating of 777 and 100%. He also sells Toshiba notebooks. I called Sony and asked if they offered some sort of low price guarantee, the rep stated that they do not offer price breaks unless a rebate is available - generally a mail-in rebate of about $100. It makes me wonder if the guy on eBay is flying to Asia, purchasing them on the cheap and shipping them back here to sell on eBay. So, the card will not be missed. CardKid
Re: New Sony Card from Bank One!!!! One word of warning, lots of times, ebay sellers sell stolen computers. One way to prevent buying a stolen computer is ask the seller for either the original build number, serial number of the machine, or the original invoice number and confirm with Sony/Dell/Apple that the machine is legit. Lots of buyers don't think to do that, or even care, but just something to think about.
