Since we have these "newbies" that allegedly got slammed hard and fast, I think a new post is in order. Let us all share our info and let other newbies (the real ones who want to change their credit life) see for themselves. BTW, I think the BIGGEST give away that these may be fraudulent posts is that one claims that NCO of all CAs is following the FCRA. I DON'T THINK SO! Lien Removed Judgement vacated and removed. 11 Collection accounts removed 2 CC's with mega lates changed to "Pays as agreed" Car note with 2 60 days changed to "Pays as agreed" Foreclosure deleted HBs Ch7 deleted off EQ ------------ AAA collections is being hardnosed and keeps validating. 2 Med collections keep validating even though I was not in the state when they say services rendered. 1 CA collecting for a cable co reduces balance from $890 to $359 (but still fighting this) NONE of the CAs that still report are reporting as disputed. ------------ When from being in the bottom 3% to having "Good" Credit per EQ and so I only use those who pull EQ. Thank you Creditnetters! Especially DOC
Hi, I too want to thank all Creditnetters. I had 12 bad old collections when I started. I got rid of 9 by disputing. The tenth was Exxon which Backspace helped me get rid of. The Eleventh is AMEX which is a paid chargeoff of 469.00) Stupid, I know. I am waiting for the 1 year mark so I can hopefully get another card with them (crossing fingers). The 12th is Discover which is to fall off in December of this year. Also, a stupid collection from Capital One appeared awhile ago, because they purchased an old account for me. I got rid of it after 2 disputes. I am in no way finished because my score is still low because some of the collections were old. I have a positve DMB card, Capital One regular card, a Capital One Kmart card and a Capital One Gold card with good payment histories. I am sooooooo glad I found this board, and I am sorry that all this trouble has started.
look at my scores and the progression upward see when my first post was dated see the correlation? enough said>>>>
I think the title of one of my posts says it all for me: +271 Points in One Month Success, I'd say so.... JohnM
I started on my wife's CR's and my CR's last June (2001). There was a total of around 75 or so negatives listed between our six CR's. Almost all were lates, paid charge offs and paid collections. Today, my EX and EQ are completely clean. One paid c/o (Macy's) left on TU; but I'll fix their little red wagon soon enough. About four left among The Lovely Mrs. Quixote's credit reports. They'll be gone soon enough, too. I have used every trick I could find here. I disputed. I validated, I estoppeled (since re-named elstoppo), I CreditWrenched. I Nutcased. Man have I Nutcased. I Nutcased before it had a name. I still Nutcase. I think I invented the Verbal Nutcase--Twelve deletes all at once from Cap1 just by convincing them that I had them by the short hairs and we were all about to lose our marbles. All on the phone. No CRR's, nothing. Last week I e-Nutcased and got Chevron to remove their old paid collection from our EX and EQ reports. Done in less than a week after a year of stalemate. That one worked so well that their capitulation letter is dated the day before I sent my e-mailed Nutcase/Knockout/Quixote's Rant Letter, aka The Raving Lunatic Cousin of Nutcase. Never went to court, although I may yet end up there with Macy's-- I've got 'em dead to rights; my rights! I owe every bit of my success to what I learned here from other members. All the usual suspects; LizardKing, LKH, Psychdoc, Marci, Breeze, Bill Bauer (despite our little recent tif, he helped me tremendously), even Bkev before his wingnuts came loose. And a whole bunch of others whose names escape me here in the middle of the night. I couldn't begin to thank them all enough. Ultimately, though, I think the lesson of the other threads as applied here is that I came, I learned, I took action. But I learned first.
I too would like to thank all of the Credittnetter's as I have made tremendous progress since finding this board 4 months ago!! After trying to get a mortgage in 8/00, I found out my scores were TU 521, EXP 532 and EQU 551. WOW! I spend the first year after that REHABing my defaulted student loan with NYS HESC (also had listed 8 Sallie Mae charge-offs from 6/96, 6/97 & 11/97 on each CR in addition to the large defaulted NYS HESC!!). All I did the first year was rehab the loan (this was before I found this board). After my loan was rehabed, it was removed from all 3 CR's - it took one letter to TU and EXP to remove. EQU already removed. STEP 1 accomplished although all 8 Sallie Mae's remained. :-( Then I took a few months surfing the net, learning as much as I could until I found this board 4 months ago in April. My first mistake was disputing the 8 Sallie Mae's as duplicates of the rehabed and sold student loan accounts listed under a new lender (fortunatley, the new lender listed the orig. open date fron '92 & '93 and didn't re-age! Did wonders for my length of credit history!). Well, not only did that not work, but those Sallie Mae's got all screwed up, came back with new staus dates and without closed dates, etc. A MESS!! A few phone calls to the CRA's about how they screwed up the accounts (but they alway blame the OC/CA) and EXP removed all, TU corrected the dates and EQU removed nothing. THEN I FOUND OUT ABOUT THE "NY 5 YEAR RULE" (do a search!)!!!!!! TU removed all, and after several faxes to EQU including one FTC threat (yes I know usually does nothing...) EQU removed all. THESE WERE MY BIGGEST OBSTACLES!! In addition: -1 CA removed - "not mine" -1 CA removed - outdated -1 satified judgemnt removed (I'm sure thy just ran out of time becasue other 2 CRAs keep verifying) -1 Cap 1 old CA removed did the bal. transfer to new Cap 1 account a year prior and PFB'd for the old account removal. -refi'd car loan with a different company, 22% int. down to 9.3. -paid down balances on 3 cc's I fortunately didn't have to sue anyone. My disputes were a mix of CRRR's, online and fax. I didn't even have to get NUTCASE on anyone, but might have liked too! I STUDIED my CRs over and over again and after my little Sallie Mae fiasco, I did even more reading through this board and the FCRA. My success is definetly due to patience and research. I still have a satified judgement on 2 CRAs and a CA which is due to come off 11/02 on the other CRA. 1 "baddie" on each CRA!!! NEVER THOUGHT I'D GET THIS FAR! HOME OWNERSHIP BY END OF THIS YEAR!!! Thanks Creditnetters!
Hi there, I can't even get them to acknowledge me! I disputed them on EX, the only CRA they report to, and they verified! Outrageous! I don't even owe this debt. It's not mine and I'm beyond bitter. I tried to e-mail you about this privately, but your e-mail is turned off. Can you please e-mail me and drop me a line so I can e-mail you back? Thanks momof5
