Hi everyone Please forgive my newbie questions I am about to embark on my first serious round of disputes with all 3 CRA's...my question: 1) when disputing online, should I go ahead and dispute everything at once for each CRA? 2) I have a few accounts on each report that list as "included in BK"...should I dispute these as "not mine" first? 3) what happens if they come back verified? 4) I have an account that was Included in my BK but is listed on EXP as an account in good standing, it reads: Status: open/never late date open: 10/1999 reported since: 10/1999 date of status: 5/2002 last reported: 5/2002 type: installment terms: 48 months monthly payment: 389 credit limit/original amount: $14,800 high balance: NA Recent balance: $5,593 as of 5/2002 Recent payment: 0 Now I got this account deleted off of TU and EQU verified. Even though this is reporting as a good standing account hurting me because of the unpaid balance showing? Should I dispute this? Dispute as what?
Different people have different opinions. Some say 4-5 max at a time, others say they have disputed all successfully (by that I mean not being labelled frivolous). yes Then we find another reason to dispute. Wrong balance, wrong DOLA, etc. Geez, I hate to get risk getting rid of a good TL. But then again, what if they come back with included in BK? Maybe someone else has suggestions. Was it for a car or something that you actually DID pay off?
Re: Re: New to disputing No, the balance was not paid off and was included when I filed. That is what concerns me...although it is being reported as a good tradeline...the balance still shows due. Thanks for all of your answers. I filed BK on 3 credit cards and one loan through GE Financial (not sure what they labeled the loan type as...I call it a personal loan) so I would only be disputing 3 or 4 tradelines per CRA.
If its your oldest TL, you might not want to touch it because the history helps your score. Just something to consider. peace, delilah
