I am new to this board and have lousy credit. I was reading where it says that you don't want to flag the credit bureaus of credit repair. What is the general rule on this. How many items should you dispute at a time.

First, welcome to the board, there are many kind people here who will help you on your credit journey.

No real general rule. When I first started with this board I researched alot of credit repair companies like Junum and Lexington and THEY have done "extensive testing" of what works, what gets flagged, and what does not work (so they claim, and so one would hope). I was told that they like the number 4...not because it is a magic number, but because 4 tends to get all disputes entered without being labeled frivolous, and 4 is more than 1 :)

Recently I have seen posts where other members have entered 10, 13, or more ONLINE and they have all been addressed. So while I think you could get away with more than 4, I think 4 is a safe bet.

    -Peace, Dave

Three or four at a time with each of the tree major credit bureaus is a safe bet. The bureaus tend to be vary reasonable and understanding with your first dispute. They get more unpleasant to deal with as you go.

Welcome to the board. Good luck.

    How true! How true!

Back when I started I thought this was going to be easy cause the CRAs essentially deleted all of derogatories included in my first dispute- how wrong I was... it most definitely gets more difficult! My advice: include the most serious derogs in your first dispute - this is your best chance to get these off.
