Can anyone give me an idea of how long it takes for a new tradeline to stop having a negative impact on scoring? 6 months? year?

Daughters car loan just hit the CR's. Score dropped 2 points...just wondering if this is going to be the worst of it.

Probably. The installment loan may be helping by improving the credit mix.

You should have those back in a month or two.

Yeah, only 2...not complaining there...lol. I was just wondering if that was as worse as it's gonna get :) and how long before it stops being a "negative scoring factor" the scoring said 2 years....this can't be right can it?!

Well I'm not a scoring expert Kathy, but when a new TL starts reporting, that should be as bad as it gets.

We usually gain 2 or 3 points a month until it bounces back.

As far as top scoring factors? LOL There's just no rhyme or reason behind those.

Congrats on your Saturn deal. That's a cute car.

    :)
