Hey guys if your afiliated with any group that wants to charge money please do not respond to this post.

I got a divorce did it Pro Se, I did a credit report all tho they did not give me score but from what I can tell its not that great. I see some bills that occured while I was deployed how do i prove to them that, I was deployed I have information showing that I was. Some other things that popped up were my wife trying to screw me over but nothing too terrible. How can I fight thos. I want to eventually build up credit and get a loan to buy a house, but who knows I hear there not giveing out loans anymore. However im a veteran and have some loan oportunites threw the VA I want to max those out and buy rental property.

If i can get basic info on how to to all this links etc. Youtube videos any kind of support, and if this forum is here to make money on people somehow i need to delete it, if anyone could verify that, that would be great.

    thanks

We're not here to charge you money, so don't worry about that. We're just here to do our best to answer your questions, but can you be a bit more specific about what it is you're trying to clean up from your credit reports? What bills are you talking about, and how exactly are they reporting on your credit reports?

Well the first thing that needs to happen is, I need to prove that on T modile account that I was out of country(that was stolen identity). I know this one for a fact, I have documentation that I was not here when it occured, how do I send it too to get it off. Another account that I had lagitament money owed on them, they want to charge me for not paying a bill however I think they want to charge me too much I was out of the country for half the billing cycle even tho I submited my orders before I left. I believe I owe them some money maybe 100 bucks but they want 400(and I think I payed them). There are some other bills I need to fight. I have one threw the exchange that was paid by them garnishing my paycheck when I was in the service but again, that was my wife which she was not on that account got a hold of my card and charged money on it. Those are the 3 that I know any specifics. The others I need to look at the dates on them to see if she opened them under my name which idk if is illegal or not and look over the dates compare them with my deployment dates. does that sound right? I dont know what laws thier are and what to do about that. There are acounts that look bad to credtors that I paid off how do, relieve some of the blow, can I wrtie to the credit people explaining what happened? I also got a credit card threw USAA that all my payments have been up to date, it was canceled a little while back. I reaplied for one that helps you build credit I figure I can put gas on it then pay it off really quickly etc.

Also the I need some sort of credit monitoring agency so I can watch to see if stuff comes off

Hi. This is a free site for discussing credit problems, and asking for advice to solve them. With regard to your delinquent debts/collection accounts, you will need to dispute them on the grounds that they are fraudulent/not yours. With regard to your plan to buy rental/investment properties with your VA benefits, that's a BAD plan, and those benefits are not intended for that purpose. Your VA benefits are intended to provide easier qualification and better loan terms for purchasing a primary residence in order to live in. They are not intended to allow for the purchase of rental properties, and I don't think they will allow you to do that. In general, it is EXTREMELY difficult to obtain a mortgage for a property that you don't plan to live in.

    Thanks for the additional info.

Regarding the T-mobile account, dispute it through all 3 major CRAs (Experian, Equifax, TU) as a fraudulent account/not yours.

Regarding the creditor that wants to charge you $400, is this a collection agency or the original creditor that you're communicating with? Do you have any documentation of what you've already paid them?

Also, keep in mind that it can be very difficult to prove that a spouse used your credit card without your permission. It becomes a "he said she said" sort of argument, and I'm sure she would argue that she had permission as your wife.

Finally, there's not much you can do about accounts that have been paid off and continue to look bad on your credit reports. They will remain there for 7 years from the DOFD before they drop off your reports. You could always try writing a Goodwill letter to the creditor and ask that they remove the negative mark, but nothing is guaranteed and you may never even get a response to your letter. Then again, it's always worth a try and you may get lucky.

Ok thanks for the advice I do have proof that I was not here. My Va benefits I can use for whatever I want....I run into this all the time people dont like that you worked for certain benefits(please stay on subject). Ok ill send off the letter have someone proof read them etc to the bad mark creditors. The accounts that she opened they were opened when I was in the middle of a desert with no acess to civilization. Who and how do I contact the creditor to provide this information. Do I look online write the company asking for there documents how do I go about doing this.

Again do you guys no of any agencies that can help for free..

    Thanks Gentlemen

The only agency that I know of that is totally free is you (even though you still incur some expenses). It can be done and I am proof of that. I started working on my credit myself, haven't paid anyone a single penny; Monday I was able to refinance a car and today I received news that my home refinance was approved and closing is less than 2 weeks away. My house payment is going from $1400 / month to $850 /month. All because of what I did and from the help I received here...again for free.

When I began my credit repair, I sent letters to the creditors, asking them to send me proof of the debt. BUT, they didn't get anything else from me in that letter (no documentation, etc.) I also started a dispute with the 3 credit bureaus at the same time and with those disputes, I did send the documentation. You're going to need to send the letters certified with return receipt for your protection. The creditor contact information can be found on your credit report; usually at the bottom.

    Good luck!

You'll find the creditor information on your credit reports. Make sure you pull all 3 of them (Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion) to get started.

Like vanmower mentioned, there aren't any agencies that do this kind of work for free. And if they say they'll do it for free, it's some kind of scam in the first place.

OK what is included in the letters to them disputeing them etc. When I ask for proof of the debt what is included in the proof that they send names signatures what exactly?

In our Sample Letters section you'll find examples of both DV letters and dispute letters. They should help guide you as you write your own. Remember to keep it simple and to the point. There's no reason to write a novel.

If you receive a response to your DV letter, the CA might send a copy of your statement with the original creditor or a copy of your contract with a signature on it. Or, you might not hear from them at all.
