OK, I have several things on my CR that I need to clean up and I want to tackle just a couple at a time. Here's my situation and what I think I need to do first. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome. I have two CC's that are past due 90+, both have been closed but not yet charged off or listed as collections on my CR. I'm thinking I should contact both companies (one is 1st remier, other is Capital 1) and see about just making auto pay arrangements to keep them from going into full collection status. I can have both paid off in like 4 months time, one is up to $400 and the other is at $900. BofA CC Opened feb 96, Charged off. Listed on EXP & EQU as Chargeoff, not listed as a collection account with any CA. I'm guessing the last payment was made somewhere around 2001 or so but last reported 12/06. Validate with them first, then dispute with CA if they can't validate?? I know it's mine, just need to understand how it got to be 3 times the original amount. Since it's past the SOL in my state, I'm wondering if they'd be open to a pay to delete. Anyone have any thoughts here? I think legally I can request to have it removed because it's been over 7 years since it went delinquent, and since it's past the SOL they can't sue me for it. Can they still try to send it to a CA? But ethically, I think requesting removal is wrong, since i did use the card. But I'm trying to clean up some really old mistakes. I believe in Karma, so I don't want to screw myself here. Also, have an old Pacific Bell Collection showing as collection by American Agencies. This account went delinquent right before SBC California bought Pac Bell. SBC obtained a judgement and it was satisfied 11/04. SO, this account is showing as a judgement, as a paid collection and as an open collection under a separate name. I'm getting dinged for the same debt three different times. Now - I know I can get the entries under Pac Bell removed, but since the SBC also shows as a judgement, can I get the paid SBC entry removed as well, or am I stuck getting dinged twice for the same thing?
