I'm new to this forum and not sure where to start with my posts. My reason for joining to begin with was to ask this: A company called HRS, USA holds the Levitz account for me. I've had this account for about 6 years. Had 10K...used 6k...had 4k left. Up until about 6 months ago, I was very good about making payments on time...then over the last 6 months have been late and totally forogt to make one payment which caused it to be 30 days deliquent. I made that payment and the next one. The current statement indicated I had 0 credit. I called. They said they closed it for 30 days deliquent. I received no notice that they did this. It just appeared. Is there anything I can do about this? I will ask my other question in another post after viewing replies to this questions

Household Retail Services.... do a search here... mixed results, but many people have a bad taste in the mouth from that company.

Well, you need to look at the totality of your situation. Were you late or in default on other accounts? Do you have other accounts jammed up to the credit limit? Are you getting a lot of cash advances? All of these make creditors nervous. You're lucky they didn't rasie the interest rates on the account.

Okay. keepmine is on the money so to speak with the reply. yes cash advances over the last 6 months have increased considerably. Basically is there anything I can do about it to not look bad on the report? I believe there was an account closed a few years ago in a joint cc. We eventually just paid them a lump sum payoff because it was Fleet and I don't even want to get started on them. Anyway, I just want to see what I can do.

    Faye:
You are not the only one. Last year this company lost one of my payments. I got hit with a 30 days late on my report and the account was closed by creditor. My best advised is every time you call CS keep records of every call, and mail, and build your case against.. I have wrote this company ,call, and PFB ( PlanetFeedBack) with no luck. I'm writing my last letter before taking them to court. (last hope). they're bad about this....

Well it sounds like they are not the best company to deal with but in may case, I was late on payments over the last 6 months or so. Then, as stated, totally spaced a payment one month. I caught up very quickly but they closed the account anyway. I just thought that having been a good customer for over 6 years until the last 6 months would make difference. guess not. I just don't want the closed account status. They can lower my limit. That is fine and probably for the best right now but I just don't want a closed account on the report. I've drafted a letter to them to send registered return receipt signature required but it sounds like it won't do any good. I'm in the wrong here as I know my payments were late. I guess, as stated above, that my recent rash of cash advances/limit reaches caused them to pull the plug based on their disclosure statement with the account. I wanted advise as to how I could approach them to possibly just lower the limit but not close the account. I guess one is just as bad as the other as far as cred reports go. Any advise please.

Welcome to the board Faye. I don't know much about Household - I think I'm glad I don't, LOL. I hear they're a bitch to deal with.
