Okay, guys...bear with me, I am ignorant. My scores are: TU 530 EQ 591 EXP 621 I have a hard inq. from a place called "Credit Decisions INC/Iqualify.com...what is this? It brought my TU score down from 621 in May to 530! What can be done about hard inquiries that I did not initiate?...that's #1 Cap1 charge off I am settling on. Providian collection account I had no idea was mine/on my report...what do you suggest. Car loan has many 30 day lates on TU, none on EXP and 2 on Equifax...what's up with this? Plus loan changed hands, do you think it is worthwhile to send a goodwill letter to company that has the loan now. My story is I have a high salary, long job history...I'd like to buy a house within a year. I am desperate to raise my scores and need some real advice from people who have had success doing it. I seriously am THE MOST ignorant person when it comes to credit, but I want to learn. I'd appreciate any advice from you guys. Thanks!
Hi IThinkICan. Are you sure you're not talking about "Iqualifynow.com? Did you sign up for Clearcredit.com? Welcome.
I didn't sign up for Clearcredit, but I did get repeated emails from them. My sis in law's email address/name/social # is similar to mine and she sometimes bleeds onto my report. So, I have called ClearCredit and written saying it's not me, but they said I signed up. I am working on it, so I'll appreciate advice on how to deal with that. I have an email and snail mail paper trail stating as such with them. Can I get this hard inq. off? Also, I disputed the Providian last night...it's only on the TU report. I know the Cap1 will still look bad as "Settled", but should it is old, from 1999, is that better? I am going to try with the new car finance company to get them to take off the old lates, I think it is from late fees vs. regular lates, because I've paid on time for the past year, but I had a late fee I didn't know about that I recently paid, so maybe the new company will be sympathetic??? I hope!!! Thanks for the advice, I read posts all the time and have found this site to be very informative, smart and funny and I'll keep my fingers crossed that I can raise those scores! Plus, would opening any cards help my score? Which do people suggest?
