    Have you read the FAQ yet or the boards? There is specific info on what to do for each type of account. If there is anything you don't understand then you can feel free to ask for further explanation

    Welcome to the board!!
    There are various avenues to take. Each are merely suggestions based upon what was you wrote
    1. Attach a 100 word statement to the CR report that is in reference to the Paid charge off
    2. Dispute as: not mine, if its not
    3. Dispute last date of deliquency if its in accurate
    or
    4. Wait out the seven years if all evidence is true and factual. Hope this helps!

    Are you freakin' kidding Tayla39. I sure as hell hope you are, because if you are actually giving that information out to a newbie, you shouldn't be giving out advice at all!

    1. NEVER SUBMIT A ONE WORD STATEMENT
    2. YOU DON'T HAVE TO WAIT OUT THE SEVEN YEARS IF THEY ARE REPORTING INACCURATE INFO!

    Tayla, I think you need to start explaining your advice now!

    Well, being a 'NEWBIE' I was just shocked by the 2nd answer to my very FIRST posting. Sure sounded like a CA was answering my question....EASY. EASY

    Easy does it Tayla :)

    Nobody is disrespecting you. Before you're even in a position to offer advice (especially to a newbie, unable to discern the difference) there is a certain amount of diligent homework and study expected from all of us, nuthin personal.

    Here's what I did;

    I joined this board 3 months ago. The first day I spent 18 hours reading these posts. The next day I realy got serious. I've read AT LEAST 20,000 posts. Studied FDCPA and FCRA 10 times. Printed out and studied AT LEAST 20 Cases (lawsuits filed against CRA's and CA's).

    Of course I'm a bit fortunate to be able to bring myslef up to speed very quickly becasue I'm self employed and was in a a postion to take a lot of time off to read, read, and re-read. After 3 months the stack of stuff I have printed out if 2 feet high, (that's feet not inches).

    And I'm a Financial Planner in the first place and have been since 1980 so I had a "leg up" to begin with.

    MY POINT -> I AM JUST NOW GETTING A STRONG HANDLE ON THIS STUFF!

    Now, you are more than welcome to be here and will be treated with the utmost respect but for your own sake, please study hard before you do anything else.;

    Disasterous consequences can happen if we act too quickly.

    I'm telling you this because we care about you and how successful you are going to be.

    Thanks Butch...I've prepared validation letters for the OC's(2) and will be sending them out certified with a return receipt (correct?) I'll wait about 30 days and hopefully get a non-verified letter in which at that time make and send copies to the CRA's???Am I comprehending this credit repair thing?

    jjulez, I am not the expert on this, but I remember reading that validation letters are for CA and I think it is verification letter that go to OC's, Do a search first. I will search too and if I see anything I'll post it. By the way the board has helped me great. Just check out my thread title It can be done!

    No Jjulez, sorry!!!

    We don't do validation demands to OC's. They have no responsibility whatsoever to adhere to the FDCPA.

    Validation demands are for the CA.

    There is no 30 day time frame when it comes to sending a Val to the CA. You trigger the 30 day limit by disputing with the CRA.

    All CNetter's advice is pretty much the same in this regard. Take the first month and study your bunns off before you proceed. You'll find the people on here loving and helpfull but they will get frustrated with you if you don't take these complex issues in their proper steps. And the first step is to study.

    I just read a fabulous thread;

    http://consumers.creditnet.com/straighttalk/board/showthread.php?s=&pgnum=1&postid=229553#post229553

    Cannon, another new person, really has a problem. She hired an idiot and he got everything all balled up. My point is if we act too fast we can do the irreversable damage to our repair efforts.

    I know you want it NOW! lol But we didn't get into trouble all in one month and we can't fix it all in one month.

    See?

    :)
