I've been lurking for a while but this is my first post. I learned about PFB through this board, and decided to try it out because I have a very unfortunate recent late payment which I think was almost unfair because I was "told" to be late in order to qualify for help. I am not planing to dispute anything which is actually true, so my credit rehabilitation may take awhile, but I thought I would share my first PFB to Chase. Think it will work? I think there's a good chance that someone will be inclined to help me with my interest rate also, after reading this. Dear Sir or Madam, I hope you are able to help me with a problem I've encountered with my Chase Credit Card XXXX. I have been contacting your customer service periodically for the last few months to see if I can make hardship payment arrangements, but that is not the reason for my letter. In December, the representative that I spoke to told me that I did not qualify for any of your programs because I was current and able to make my payments. I naturally concluded that if I did NOT make my regular payment, which I have always done for 10 years, I would become someone who DID qualify for help. You can see from my 10 year payment history with this card that I have always made my payments on time, and that a late payment is not typical of my history with Chase. In February, another representative informed that I had unfortunately "misunderstood" and that even though I was now late I still could not get on the hardship program or any relief from my 22% interest rate and high minimum payments. In order to repair this unintentional damage I immediately began making double payments and have now brought my account current, albeit still over the limit. Because I intentionally did not make the payment, based on my conversation with a Chase representative, I would like you to make a goodwill adjustment to remove the late payment notations from my credit report at the three Credit Reporting Agencies. The late payments are NOT indicative of my history with Chase or my intention to pay my debts in a timely manner. Thank you very much for your help in this manner. If you additionally have ability to help with my payment terms that would be delightful, but over and above my request now. Please contact me if you have any questions or need further information.
Replying to my own post, I immediately got the following email. I thought PFB went to individuals who actually tried/could do something, but this makes me fear that it went back to the general unconcerned CSR email box. Can anyone reassure me that PFB works? Thank you for writing to Chase. We have received your message and will provide a detailed response within 24 hours. No I can't say anything positive about PFB. I sent Cap One a letter on 4/1, and then again on 4/18 and still have heard NOTHING. peace, delilah
