I am having trouble with 2 of my spouses credit cards that were originally in his name with me as an authorized user. Both cards are now charged off unpaid and are being reported to cra's as joint. I have sent crrr to both telling them to remove but have been told they are joint. I never signed cc agreements or contracts with them, havent heard back. I also disputed with cra's and EQ and Ex came back verified, TU deleated. I had similar trouble on 2 other cards listed as au and cra's verified but sent letter to cc company and they said would deleat within 30 days. I know from other posts the switching from au to joint is a collection tactic they do to married couples but my state is not community property state. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks JLC.

Corestates tried to do that to me. My mom owed them about $7K when she passed away. I was an AU because she was bed-ridden. The tried to sue me as joint.

At that time (around 1997), I sent them a letter asking for my signature on an application that indicated I was joint - they dropped the suit.

Send them validation requesting your signature on an application indicating joint account.

You are an AUTHORIZED USER, not "JOINT", NO REQUIREMENT TO PAY.
