newbie question

    cannot find info i need......how long are inquiries supposed to stay on your credit report? someome has told ne 6 months but i can't find anything on it?!?!?!?!?!?! Help please!

    Follow the FAQ thread at the head of this board. You'll get answers to all of your questions.

    In my experience, inquiries stay on for 2 years before dropping off. But the FICO score only uses the last 12 months, and there are differences on how it computes some of them. The 6 month number probably came from a lender-that's what they are mostly concerned about, the last 6 months.

    I don't know if I'd call it stupidity. I can't speak for the others here, but I know that I have many not so bright moments in the past. But it's lead me here and to all these wonderful people willing to help. So I'll be stronger and wiser in the long run. There's no such thing as a stupid question. You just have to read and search alot. Most any question you have has most likely already been answered by someone here.
