I am working with my husband to correct his credit report. I sent in dispute letters to all three CRA and I have an issue that I'm not sure how to approach. There is a collection agency on his credit report that reported the same account twice. The date assigned are the same. However, the client names are different and the status are different. One says Unpaid and the other Inc. in BK. Also, the last date of activity is different, one is 98 and the other is 01. The one in bk has a zero balance and the other has a $102 balance. We know it's the same account. If it comes back verified, we only disputed the unpaid account, what should we do from there? Has the CA made violations already? Thanks!
personally - i would dispute each of them as "duplicate"...see what happens. maybe you'll get the both removed.
