Newly married ladies (less then one year) question for you:

Do you still receive "pre-approval" in your maiden name? If so, are they better then the ones in your married name?

I went away this past weekend and came home to 3 "pre-approvals" two in my maiden name and the other in my married name. Since I'm on the wagon I have been collecting them to judge if 'm getting better offers and I was shock to see that I have far more offers under my maiden name then my married name and I have been married only since 9/01.

Most are 0% BT Offers. That and Citibank gas cards.

I have been married two years, but I still receive credit card preapprovals in my maiden name (thanks to my school..who refuses to change my last name). My preapprovals for school are actually worse (in terms, fees, CLs) because I think they are targeting college kids (alot of Cap One preapprovals).

In my married name, I get the 0% offers for MBNA, Amex, Discover, etc. :)
