I received a Pre-Approval for a Newport News Card today in the mail. It was attached to a catalog. The Pre- Approval was for $250.00. If I open a account would they run a inquiry. Is this card hard to get. My scores must be going up???? Does anyone have any input???
It's been a couple of years but I'll try to remember. I received the same thing attached to a spiegel catalog. At first I thought no way because they had been included in my b/k. I went ahead and called and was approved. I don't recall my limit but it was very small. However, it grew very very quickly. I don't recall if they pulled a hard inquiry. I don't recall seeing an inquiry on my reports from them but I can't guarantee. If you want the card I would definately go for it. It is a great card, useful at several of their stores. Very generous with credit line increases
where do you think they got your home address (hint credit report). I'd check for FCNB AR's on your reports.
It's easy to get - as I recall they did pull CR - the PRM was on Experian, they pulled Equifax. They do increase limits quickly.
