American City Business Journals 3/12/02 Credit card issuer NextCard Inc. said it transferred its portfolio servicing operations to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., which is acting as receiver of the San Francisco company's failed bank. Sixty-five people remain employed by the company. NextCard will continue providing, for a minimum of three months, certain administrative services while the FDIC works on selling off NextCard's portfolio. The FDIC was forced to take over NextCard's Phoenix-based bank in February, mailing $525 million in checks to NextBank depositors.
Does anyone think that now would be a good time for a Spam dispute on a Next card account? With only 65 people left, how many could be working on the onslaught of disputes?
Absolutely. Timing is everything. But don't threaten to sue them for damages if they don't comply. You cannot squeeze blood (or $$$) out of a turnip. Saar
