At this point in the game, no company has stepped up to the plate to buy or even take controlling interest of Nextcard. Not a good sign. The would-be suitors are sitting on the sidelines, waiting for for the FDIC to step in and then sell the former assets and accounts for pennies on the dollar, with a garrentee from FDIC to be responsible for any account losses. Yes, it really still happens. Just as they were ready to close on last Friday, Bank employees for Hamilton Bank in Florida,watched in horror, as about 40 swat team members, all dressed in black, charged-in and took over control of the bank(and duplicated this action at each and every branch,all at the same time). Hamilton Bank stock traded at about $1.65/share before the raid.Trading was halted on Nasdaq, no bid, no ask. I should also mention that, in the mail today, I received my replacement card from Nextcard, as the old one was about to expire. I got my first good laugh of the day. The expiration date for the new card is in .......2004. VJ
