This is an ongoing issue that I had posted on AOC earlier this year. I disputed several items on my CR with all 3 agencies. Equifax never responded to my letter. After 30+ days, I sent a "since you didn't respond please delete the items" letter (this was on Feb. 22). They still have not responded, and according to TrueCredit, 2 of the items are showing "in dispute" but nothing on the others, and nothing has been deleted. (BTW, all letters were sent CMRR) What is my next step? Should I get a "real" copy of my Equifax report to make sure nothing's been deleted? Thanks!
It has been my experience that it takes me about 45 days from the date that I sent the letter out to get a response from the CRA. If you do not have a response by then, I would send a letter demanding the deletion under FCRA. I kinda jumped the gun on one item with Equifax. Sent out a dispute letter and then another 35 days after they received my first dispute. Two days after the second was sent, I got a deletion letter from them. Make sure to make copies of your CMRR and attach to original dispute letter. Or you can print the Tracking off of USPS.com. It shows delivery info.
