Electric company shows charge-off form 1999 for $98.00. Sent OC validation 1 & 2 No response. Disputed w/ EXp . they came back and said it was updated to paid chargeoff verified 12/03. What can I do to get rid of this quickly?? Electric co. is very difficult. there has to be a way to get it removed.
Hi Rbay, Whenever we have a TL which is paid, but want removed, my favorite tactic is to bait them into pulling your report to see whats wrong with it. We often refer to it as the "Dancerat Trick". Once they do, they have done so without a permissable purpose, and it's a $1,000 violation. Then we can use that to force them to remove. It doesn't work every time but frequently enough to make it worth a shot. That's MY idea. Doc, has done a ton of work on what is called the "nutcase series", which has helped a lot of people. Look for that too. This should be fairly easily resolved but it may take some time. Welcome to the board. .
