I have written confirmation that Nextcard is no longer a subscriber of TU. This means that TU cannot verify Nextcard accounts closed prior to the FDIC shutdown. Thought this might help some of those out there with Nextcard probs.
So we must decide if DISPUTING is worth removal... My wife still has a balance of less than $500 still showing...NEVER UPDATED...BUT IF WE DISPUTE THE BALANCE AS $0...SHE WILL PROBABLY LOSE THE ACCOUNT...IT WILL GO BYE BYE OFF THE CREDIT REPORT!!!
My TU report had my Nextcard reported as closed and paid with zero balance, then on Feb 11 a balance of $11,789 was reported on the card. My CL was only $5000. I disputed it and 3 days later the account was completely deleted from my TU profile. No problems with the other 2 CRA's, they still show no balance and paid satisfactorily. So it does appear that TU cannot verify Nextcard anymore at all, but keep an eye on your reports for situations that happened to me. On another note similar, TU has never been able to verify a Household account for me. I dispute, they get removed. (I had 3 different accounts from them).
My Nextcard charged off and was taken over by Merrick bank. Got Nextcard deleted. Merrick is now reporting on TU. Don't be suprised is the new OC starts reporting.
