NextCard validation??? What next?

I disputed a NextCard account with all three CRAs and it was removed from TransUnion. Equifax and Experian continue to "verify" the debt as belonging to me. I have written to NextCard (or what is left of NextCard) twice, requesting validation and recieved nothing. When I sent these supporting docs to Equifax and Experian (after waiting 30 days for each request), they still say they have verified the debt.

Are CRAs required to provide me with evidence of verification/validation? What should I read/reference regarding lawful documentation for validating debt?

    Any thoughts appreciated.

    Sincerely, Kristine

CRAs never have to validate a debt. They may have to verify it but there is a world of difference between the two terms. Validation is a much higher standard.

Thanks for your reply. Since there is no one to file a law suit against in the case of NextCard, does that mean that I now other recourse?

    Sincerely, Kristine

Why can't you sue the credit bureaus for verifying an account from a company that is supposedly no longer in existance?

Personally I'd like to know exactly who is verifying on Nextcards end.

When the cra's send you the results, there should be a statement that if you so request, a description of the procedure used to verify, along with the name and phone of who verified, will be sent.

I suggest you send them a procedural request. Just write it up as described above. You can also do a search here under "procedural request". There should be a lot of info.
