I called Discover Card Rate Department this morning for getting lower apr for 6 months, First he told me he could give me 2.9% fixed for 6 months. Then he tried to sell credit card registry (credit card lost protection) and I told him that I don't need that. He told me that he could not give me 2.9% fixed for six months because I didn't take credit card registry. Then he hung up the phone without saying having a nice day and good-bye. I called them back to the different person and she was nice. She gave me 2.9 fixed for 6 months without taking credit card registry.
That's for my Discover Titanium Card.

I thought that Credit Card Registry and Credit Card Payment Protection is up to the customer whether they wanted to sigh up or not. It is required to have it for getting the promo rate. I don't believe that Discover did it to me this morning. I forgot to get his name and I could get him to lost his job. Beware!!! Next time to talk to Discover Card Rate Department. None of the other banks did to me.

Yes, I want to protect my American Express Credit Card account! Please enroll me in the
OPTIONAL Credit Protection Plan. I have read and I meet the age and eligibility requirements shown in the Terms and Conditions. I understand the Credit Life, Credit Disability, Involuntary Unemployment and Family Leave insurance coverage is not required by the Creditor and I may cancel coverage at any time. I understand that my account will be billed monthly when I have a monthly ending balance. Credit Life and Disability coverage provided by Balboa Life Insurance Company and Balboa Life Insurance Company of New York. Involuntary Unemployment Insurance and Family Leave coverage provided by Balboa Insurance Company (Meritplan in LA).

OPTIONAL with AMEX...I thought that was industry standard!!!

Years ago it was PUSHED as not really OPTIONAL for people with BAD credit!!!
I THINK IT WAS OUTLAWED THAT A COMPANY CAN REQUIRE IT AS A CONDITION FOR APPROVAL...
