Contact your congressman. You need to get your SSN records straightened out first, since the CRAs, or any creditor, can easily check the SS deceased list and undo any fix you attempt. How do you handle your taxes, which are also under your SSN? Are other accounts or debts showing on your CRs under your SSN? Did they use just your SSN, or your SSN and name, how much of your name, DOB, etc?
the credit reporting companies use all 3 dob ssn and name still commin up with no credit record found as far as my taxes go i dont have any just my resdental taxes
Have you contacted the Social Security Administration? They have a contact on their web site to report when other people are using your SSN. Also, if you are "dead", I guess you would not be able to get your SS benefits when you retire. What picture ID do you have? State issued DL? Although it might not be up for renewal yet, when you do renew, they have been checking DL info against SS info. Main problems to date have been when names don't exactly match, but "deceased" might block your DL renewal too. I guess then you just don't exist.
heres the crazzy part i am disabled so i recieve disability ss knows im alive they give me a check everymonth soooooooooo i have no clue
Fraudulently using your name and SSN while obtaining government VA medical benefits would be both id theft, and presumably a felony under federal law. Although he's dead, so he is not around to be prosecuted. Start with SSA, but maybe you report id theft involving VA thru the FBI. I would also call your congressman's office so that one of his staff is aware of the problem, since you don't know what or how effectively any part of government will respond, and this involves issues that should be addressed better by legislation. You don't know what knee-jerk reaction any institution will make when called by a "deceased" beneficiary who is receiving checks. CYA.
so theres no way of me gettin credit till this is streight huh damn it its not like i need it it would just be nice not to use my cash all the time
I would still pull my CR reports. If you do nothing, the CRAs don't have to either. If they refuse because they have you down as "deceased" you can then start filing complaints, making it clear you are very much alive. If you don't start, it will never be fixed.
By the way, if you were turned down for credit, based on pulling your CR, you are due a written Adverse Action Notice, for the asking. that should specify the reason you were turned down, and what reports were pulled. The CRA(s) used then owe you a free credit report, which you should request within 60 days of being declined. The FCRA doesn't say you lose that right if you are "dead", but the CRAs might require some additional identification, maybe utility bill or DL.
