Just after I filed my Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2004 I opened a secured credit card to start rebuilding my credit. After I started receiving more and more unsecured credit cards I paid off the balance of that secured credit card by transfering the balance to one of the unsecured ones - in 2007. That bank then returned my secured savings amount. Fine and dandy, and closed that secured credit card.
BUT - they also removed the account completely from all the CRAs. I am therefore missing over three years of very positive account information which obviously affects my credit score.
Is this common among banks to remove old secured credit card information from the CRAs? How do I get this very good account to be added back to my credit history? I know the bank's name but not the account number.

You can go to that bank and they can go by your ss# I've had to do that a couple of times.

Ask them to re-report it. They don't have to but, it never hurts to ask.
