where in the FCRA does it say derogatory information should be reported, but it is not mandatory that it is reported?
Is this a trick question? Been talkin to a CA? It basically says they have a duty to provide accurate information.
The FCRA covers the requirements for information that IS reported... but I don't believe that there is anything in the FCRA, or any law for that matter, that REQUIRES companies to report information to the credit bureaus... either derogatory or positive. At least that's my understanding... someone please correct me if I'm wrong. Kirk
I'm writing a settlment letter and I thought I remembered someone on here was talking about the FCRA where it says that derogatory information should be reported, but it is not mandatory. I'd like to quote the part of the FCRA that says that, but i'm having trouble finding it. I've looked it over several times and I believe it doesn't exist.
, but i'm having trouble finding it dixidriftr =================== How can you find what is not there?
Just wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything. Not like your dealing with a small law here. The FCRA is only 34 pages in 10 point type.
