I sent my validation letter to RMA about an old Bellsouth account that they claim that I owe....no response.....mailed estoppel....no response. I disputed with equifax online and it came back with a checked status. Obviously, they are in violation of FDCPA and my next step is to file suit. I am unfamiliar with the small claims court process. Do I have to file in the county where they do business? Is there any type of guide to help a newbie through the lawsuit process? I am determined to have this item removed from my report. Also, I have seen people suggest sending copies of the DV letter and estoppel to the CRA and telling them that CA refuses to validate....has anyone had success with this method? I suspect the CRA will just ignore the info that I provide.
