    Hello,

I sent a validation letter to a CA disputing one of my cc debts on 2/23/06. Since sending them the validation letter, I received a letter from them stating that they were researching the amount owed with the people that they purchased the debt from. The 30 day mark has just come up and I am wondering what my next step is. I believe that I am supposed to send a fllow-up letter telling them that they haven't complied, etc. I'm just not sure what I am supposed to be asking/telling them at this point. Any advice that anyone can give would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank You!

Have they collected since your dispute? Was your dispute timely?

If your dispute was sent timely (within 30 days of their initial contact letter) they should cease collection until sending you validation.

They might never send you validation, but if they don't, they cannot continue collection. Collection includes verifying to the CRA, if you dispute the TL with the CRA, so if they don't send validation, and you dispute with the CRA, they should not verify, resulting in removal of the TL from your report.

My response, with the validation letter, was timely (w/in 30 days). How would I go about disputing it with the CRA's and having it romoved from my credit report?

    Thanks for your help!!
