What happens if this happens? How long do I give them to respond? How many letters should I send to 'validate' before I start taking CRA action? How do I 'investigate' with the CRA's if the CA won't validate it with me? If I sent everything CRRR, how will those little green stubs come in handy? DO the CA's have to respond via CRRR? Sorry for all the questions, thanks for everyones help KHM
No response, you send an estoppel. Do a search - you'll find it. Give them 30 days to respond. I would dispute about 3-5 days after you mail the validation. Just dispute as not mine. That's what I have done. If the ca doesn't respond, you have valid proof that you requested validation (in case you have to sue them) No, they do not, nor will they respond via certified mail. If they do validate by regular mail, as far as you are concerned, you never got it.
Apparently I am a total moron, I did a search here and on the WWW and I can't find a sample estoppel ( I don't even know what that is) does anyone have a sample one? KHM
Erica you ROCK! After reading my original post I fogot to mention that it is NOT on my CR YET. They do report, they are the ones reporting all over my hubbys report. Its for a medical bill, it's my daughter bill (shes only 2). Seeing as they haven't reported it yet, there's nothing to dipute with the CRA's. However if they fail to validate and choose to report it, what are my rights? KHM
basically you can sue the piss out of them. $1000 per violation and I'm sure we can help you think of a few.
