    Something strange

Ok, yesterday I deposited $25 into an account at ingdirect.com and today there's $50. That only makes an additional $25. Where's the other $25?

Has your $25 deposit actually been credited yet? Maybe the $50 is the sign-up bonus, and your $25 hasn't credited yet?

Last night, when I got home from work around 11:00 pm, There was $25 on the account screen. No today, there is $50. I checked with my bank online and no withdrawl has happened yet, so maybe you are right. We'll see tomorrow.

Does anyone know how long this company has been in business? It would be a great scam to pay everyone 50 bucks for their checking account#,and then without warning, clean all those accounts out? Stranger things have happened.

There is information at their website. It looks good enough and I opened an account today. Their account verification of two small deposits reminds me of x.com.

All things considered I like the idea of $50 bonus I can withdraw after opening an account with $5.00.

They have advertized on TV on the big three...CBS NBC ABC....you never saw that commercial with the guy trying desperately to read the bench with one person sitting on the bench with the letters "ING" sicking out....you know...like there's some other letters before it, but the person is in fromt of the beginning of the word...well the actual word is ING for their company name and that's just that

They are based in the Netherlands, bought Equitable Insurance and Life of Georgia to get into the US market. Now they're going into banking here.

What is the catch, what is there to stop someone from opening the account today with $1 and a week from now closing their account with 49 profit?

i've been a customer for 4-5 months. Never had a problem. Great place to save a few bucks, because its not the easiest to yank your money out (You can ach draft in/out).

If they have the cash to advertise on prime tv hours, im pretty sure they are a stable company.

then again, giving out $50 to any schmo who deposits $1 , doesn't seem very smart however its a huge tax writeoff for them.

Also when they deposit the $50.00 is goes in as Interest paid, so at the end of the year you will have to pay taxes on it.....oh well...still, free money, is free money!

That can be pretty good interest on a buck or two.

Thats better than calling 1 800 collect :)

    Re: Something strange

Considering on $1.00 deposited, and since the "interest" is deposited in 24 hours...that would be the corresponding APR of.....oh say.....1,825,000%!
