    Hey everybody,

Ive been reading and learning and learning and reading.

Started last month with 21 negs(OMG)ranging from mine, yours, theirs. 9 deleted so far with a valiant effort ranging from PFD's, dispute process online/writing, all being charge offs cc,med, phone, loans, tickets etc ranging from 2-6 years ago, hope the list isnt 2 long

    Question #1

when calling ca's (while stating i have no knowledge of debt), and asking for a pfd (which works) is there any problem with giving my ss# as a account reference lookup

    Question #2

Is having a lawyer contact ca's for info, pfd's, etc... hurt or help my case in any way

    Question #3

After disputing online and recieving verification , mailing a letter semi demanding, requesting validation/demanding proof/citing legal facts.....right after the first 30 days......is it too soon??????? I guess what im asking is it beneficial/hurtful to skip a few steps and go right to the good letters demanding action or else.

    Question #4

When disputing and they come back verified, does this renew the sol and add another 7 years for the ca to report , or a better question would be how long does a ca have to report an oc chargeoff from 02/2002 which they aquired in 11/2005, reason being that i have chargeoffs that have been over 7 years still being reported and coming back as verified by the oc and ca

    Question #5

What is the absolute BEST course of action for a chargeoff acount, in which the ca will not settle and give out a pfd.

    Question #6

What are some of the biggest mistakes i can make/avoid at this point.......

Im guessing most results will vary on a case by case basis, just looking to steer clear of any huge mistakes as i take the man down

    Any knowledge is appreciated

    Thanks in advance

Hope these arent too nooby for ya

#1 - Don't EVER give anyone your SS#. When you contact them by phone just give them your name and the account # that they are listing.
#2 - Not unless/until you sur them or they sue you.
    #3 - Not too soon.
#4 - SOLs and length of time for an item don't have anything to do with each other. SOL is the period when collection goons can legally go after you. Negative items stay on your CR for 7 years - no matter if the SOL is less. This is a conspiracy betweem creditors and reporting agencies to keep consumers' credit histories in the toilet longer.
#5 - Dispute entries with the CRs over and over again. Chances are that sooner or later they'll get sick of verifying things with the CAs or the CAs get sick of sending the same info over and over again.
#6 - Do not rely on anything, anyone tells you over the phone unless you record the conversations. Get everything in writing.
