I have a debt from Nordstrom of $200 that is 7-8 yrs old...every month it gets "restated" on my tradelines...it was included as part of a BK filling so "legally" I do not owe them...it is scheduled to "drop off" in less than 2 yrs...what should be my course of action (should I write Nords. & tell them I do not owe them?...)
    thanks, Kris

Yes, you don't owe them, and no, you don't owe them. But you did owe them, so they get to keep reporting it, I believe for 10 years.

Is it 10 years for items included in a BK, or only for the BK itself?

If you want to dispute it with the CRA rather than with Nordstrom's, say anything you want. Not mine, never late, paid in full, whatever.

I believe the tradeline MAY be reported for 7 years and the BK public record MAY be reported for 10 years.
