    Hi, all,

My mom sent a validation letter to Northland Group. She got the green card back on July 19th. But they have sent two letters since then dated past that date. Aren't they supposed to cease communicating with her during that validation period? I am sure this is a violation. If it is, what letter should she send them?

As always, so grateful for the advice.

They need to cease collection efforts.. were the letters asking for more information, or were they asking for money?

Unless she included a cease and desist request in her correspondence they can still contact her but cannot resume "collection activity" until they have provided validation

It's the same exact letter that they keep sending her, which is a joke. It's a settlement offer for $605.12 in two easy payments. They claim the balance due is $1100.21. The reason this is a joke is the original debt was only $286.00. So they are continuing collection activity, right? How does she proceed from here.
