Just when I thought I was going to get a break, I get my validation from TU in the mail today. They sent me an updated credit report still showing the account I disputed, so I take it they validated. The only violation I have on them is that they failed to place the item as "in dispute" on my report. Should I send them a letter demanding they delete since they violated? Damn it, I really want this off my report! I was having such a terrible day, now this. :-(
Velouria, Maybe semantics and perhaps I'm having a wild hair day but, the CRA's don't provide validation the CA's don't provide validation to the CRA's the CA's provide validation to you (well usually not but that's where it would go if you requested it and they were to respond) TU's system isn't capable of marking any tradeline in dispute I'm not sure what you would send them a demand letter for, the language and wording you are using has me wondering what you sent the first time? I did on online dispute w/ TU, disputed one account as "not mine" and a bunch of old addresses. I got an updated report from them today...the addresses are gone but the account is still listed as updated. I sent a request to the OC (account hasn't went to collections even though it's been 4 years since DOLA) for validation, but they still have a few weeks to respond. I thought that when you disputed an item with an OC/CA/CRA , they had to mark the item as "dispute/investigation" on your report. I've read that TU never does this, but I was wondering if it's still a violation if they don't. Sorry about being unclear in my first post...I'm seriously having the worst day of my life.
