So yet another question for you helpful folks:

I received a validation from a CA regarding an apt. complex they are claiming I owe money to. In my validation letter, I asked for proof that they can legally collect debt in my state, and they did not send this. I also asked for all communication that the apt. complex had with me, and they did not send that either.

    Finally,

They sent a few copies of a lease I signed that has a wet ink signature. HOWEVER, this differs from their original information that the CA sent me--one piece of info. says I owe for two months of rent, the other shows I owe for one.

What are the next steps I should be taking--should I write another validation letter asking for their license to collect debt? Do I send this conflicting information to the Credit Bureaus? (I already began a dispute with them).

Thank you in advance for your help!
