Those people were purged by the Creditnet Stalinists early in 2001. They officially don't exist any more.

Sorry to hear about the situation. You won't be thrown in jail for failure to pay any debts but I can say they may collect on it vigorously and if you don't pay they can possibly take you to court and sue you which would add court costs on top of the already charged amount.

Can you possibly work out a payment plan with them?

Let's say she doesn't pay it, they send it to a collection agency. then they can be sued by the collection agency. I wasn't talking about the OC.

Don't matter:If it's past Sol with the OC it would still be past sol with a CA.

I thought when a collection acct is opened on your credit the SOL starts all over again from the date it is reported by the CA?

No Helen. The SOL begins when you first go into continious default with the OC. Being passed to a ca is immaterial to figuring the SOL.
Am curious though. What is the signficance of dregging up a 3 year old post?

Don't matter who owns it or how many times the debt changes hands it can only be listed for a total of 7 years, and the count down starts with the first owner.

I replied to your post dated 5/9/2003. That isn't 3 yrs old. The original post was 3 yrs old but you seemed to dredge it up also.

I had no idea the SOL went by the OC and I just needed clarification.

    Thank you!

Am curious though. What is the significance of dredging up a 3 year old post?

    Have no idea.
However it looks like Helen may have learned some things as a result.
Would that count as a significance?
