someone just mentioned in another thread that a creditor once told her that they only send statements as a courtesy. I had a creditor who would go months w/o sending me bills on a revolving account, and they gave me the same BS. is there any case law or anything regarding this? I had another creditor who never updated their records when i moved. They kept sending bills to the wrong address, and every month I'd fill out the little change of addess thing in the bill (when it finaly showed up).
Here you go: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/credit/fcb.htm Scroll down to the section which says "Other billing rights" which EXPLICITLY mentions that (1) a creditor must provide you monthly statements whenever you owe them or they owe you, and (2) send such statement at least 14 days before the amount is due. -- lakpr
