Got a preapproved offer from Bank Of America for a platinum card. I was skeptical, but gave it a go. It came back approved with a $3000 gold card instead, though the same APR terms as the platinum (0% intro, 9.9% fixed go-to). That pi$$ed me off enough to fire a PFB letter to them. Got a reply from their executive office, which looked into the matter and couldn't do anything for me. Does anyone know if I can still do anything from here? BTW, they pulled TU, score is in high 600's. -Roman
romanduv, My brother got pre-approved Platinium Mastercard from Bank Of America two years ago. The term is 9.9 fixed APR as long as the account is goodstanding. They pulled credit report from TransUnion. They approved him a Platinium Card with credit limit of $5000. I think you can call the retention department. You tell them your situation and let seee what they can do anything about it. The number is 800-858-0561. Ron.
Thanks ron, I'll try it tommorow. Do you think you can call them before you actually get the card? and will they have more power than the executive office? -Roman
Roman, I think they're nice and I think they can work something for you. I think so. The retention dpt get me to 9.9 % APR. The corporate office usually didn't take small things like this. Ron.
