Our house is still in the process of being built. Right now we're looking at an approximate closing date of November 30 (I'm pretty sure the house will be completed by then). When should I notify my current landlord? I'm just scared that if I tell them a certain date and the house isn't finished I'll be homeless. What about creditors/periodicals/post office? Is thirty days enough? Thanks. Dani
Hi dani, I would say 60 days notice for your landlord. Are they aware of the building of your own home?? Do you have a current lease?? Are they nice As for creditors, post office, I waited until I closed and then updated on my creditors most online, I went to the post office the monday after we closed and filed out change of address, my mail stopped the next day at old house and I started received my forwarding mail about 3 days later. Everything was fine with my creditors, I mostly pay online anyway but they updated quick, if I caught them before statement closed it came to new addy, I had one or 2 that I updated after statement closed so those were forwarded but got here in plenty of time.
