Now instead of 2 Equifax files, I now have 3. I am on the phone now trying to straighten this out. Will update you soon!
They finally found the 2nd one I complained about a long time ago (that they claimed before never existed), They are looking for the 3rd now...
They found the 3rd. She said they cannot combine them. I need to send my a copy of my DL and SS card in by mail. I have no access to a photocopier, and I am housebound (recovering from knee surgery)!
I had this same problem and equifax said the same thing to me. I had 3 files and yes they can combine them. BKEV was the one that told me what the problem was. I bet you can't get your report online either. The way I actually found out I had 3 I called and requested a copy of my report since I couldn't get it online. Lo and behold 3 reports with 3 different numbers came. They had no choice but to fix the problem then cause I gave them all 3 numbers and made them pull up all 3 files while I was on the phone with them. fopr 5 months they denied there was a problem. They've denied the problem for about a year. I have been able to access my reports online up until about a couple of weeks ago. Both the online service guy and the customer service person told me there were "Do Not combine" codes on my report that was preventing them from combining them.
I sent a letter threatening to sue cause Ii had been applying for credit and I kept getting denied based on no significant credit history. I knew that was wrong cause I have 34 accounts. When I received those credit reports one of them had 2 accounts, one had 4 accoutns and the other had 20 accounts. i guess the system would randomly give out any of the 3 of my reports. It is fixed for now though! Phyllis
She said she could not give it to me because of the multiple files (of course I think that is a lie - shouldn't each file have its own score?)
