Now what?

Just to briefly summarize my situation:

On April 19th I received a call from a CA informing me they were just assigned an old Citibank debt (may or may not still be in SOL) and how would I like to pay. I expressed my desire to dispute and was told I had to call them by 9pm that evening to arrange payment, or it would be marked "Refused to pay" and they would do a "record and asset" search on me immediately. Whatever that means.

I immediately FAXED and sent CRRR dispute and request for validation. Did not receive anything back.

Last week I received a phone call telling me they had my "proof" but could only fax or email it to me. I explained the FDCPA requires it to be mailed. The CA got very aggressive, I hung up...CA called back again. I hung up .

I immediately FAXED and sent CRRR a request to cease and desist by phone only.

Today I received a note from them "reminding" me that I must have full payment in their office by this Monday. (no 'or else').

Clearly more than one FDCPA violation here. However, this is not showing on any of my credit reports so I almost think I'm better off just letting it go.

My question is what I should do now. My first instinct was to fire off an ITS listing their violations. Then I thought maybe I should just wait and do nothing...and wait for more violations.

    Any thoughts?

Ooh the choices these people have given you. Is Citi not reporting either?

No...that's the interesting thing. None of the CRA's are reporting any of this. Experian shows a hard inquiry, but it appears they did have PP.

What happened was Citibank charged it off in 1998 (can't be certain of date because I can't get any documentation...SOL is 6 years), and then it was turned over for collection. Then it was sold to a company called Covenant (???), who assigned it to the CA that is currently harrassing me.
