Interesting read about cc companies raising rates, based on other debts: http://www.nytimes.com/2003/05/29/business/29CRED.html
Unfortunately, this has been status quo for a while now. I totally agree that credit-card companies are abusing their rights to access individuals credit histories to price or reprice accounts accordingly. Now more than ever I am always double-checking online whether the payment is posted yet and when. I have to do this so I don't get caught with a sudden APR increase. I mean really....Is it necessary for Cap. 1 and others to check account holders credit reports EVERY month? I think not.
They pulled THREE ARs for me in the span of a little over a month last July-August (me thinks they were ITCHING to jack me for something)
