Hey Guys! I have been practicing to protect the country and have not had time to be on here to get things straight. However, I do have on question. If something goes to collection, does the date opened/date purchased (through the CA) have to be the same as the OC's date open?? Is that called reaging? Thanks Guys!
No... It is legal for the CA to note on the CR the date they opened an account with you. This would be different from the date the OC opened an account with you This will appear to re-age your account, but the original date of delinquency is the one used to start the 7 year clock for reporting purposes. After 7 years their TL and the OC's TL must come off. When it does not come off it is because the account has been "re-aged' It is important to know, and have evidence in writing, when the account first went delinquent and was never again brought up to date. The CA can put any dates they want on their TL, the only one that matters is the Date of Original Delinquency
