i just received a letter from express stating that they are unwilling to delete a structure account from my file. I asked them to validate the account ie siganture, a contract etc... I need help what is my next plan of attack. They obviously dont have anything proof.....the account was never listed in dispute when i checked my reports what are my options
OC's do not have to validate, only CA's. Depending on what you asked for and how they replied, you may want to try to send copies of everything to the CRA's with a letter stating that the account does not belong to you and the OC was unable to verify to you, so you are demanding a deletion from them. Its a bit of a stretch, but can work if you can get some leverage on them. Also, BE VERY CAREFUL, sending the CRA's anything you receive from an OC. They will use this documentation to verify the account in question. You may want to do a search and read some of "lizardking"s old posts. He used this same strategy very successfully. He didn't beat around the bush, he went straight to court and got deletions via settlement from all three CRA's.
