How can an OC not have to validate/verify a debt? They could charge us anything they want to and we do not have a way legally to require written documentation that we legally owe them this debt? An OC has to verify the debt with the CRA, but doesn't have to provide any proof (ie documentation). I thought that the FCBA covered this, but it's only billing errors within the last 60 days. If one has a cc on their credit report from 5 years ago, that cc company doesn't have to provide that consumer with any documentation stating how this is their bill, how they came to get this balance. B.S.!!!!!!!!! It's got to be somewhere. So where? Sirrowan
I know! This really pi**es me off too! I have disputed with CRA and comes back verified. I have also sent letters to OC stating I don't believe the bal. due is correct, please send me billing statetments, etc. And guess what? They ignore me!
