Do I need an attorney to clean this up? An OC errored in their billing and then sent it to a CA. CA got a judgment on me (didn't know this until I pulled the CR) and so now I have a judgment for a debt that the OC admits wasn't correctly billed. (I only owed a few dollars vs the several hundred they stated.) Where do I start? Also, if I have in my PR a state tax lien that says "released" - do I dispute it? leave it? Only 2 of the 3 CRA's show it released so I'm wondering if it's not better to leave it so that when pulled, if EXP (of course) doens't pull it - people will see on the other CRAs that it was released. Dispute with EXP first? TIA!!! Shanyl

Don't you just love the way default judgments screw folks???? 2*Not if the other CRA reports aren't pulled. There is no time limit on reporting a tax lien that hasn't been "released". 3*As far as the judgment get all the paper work from the court.
Re: Re: OC Oopses -->CA files Judgment ?? LB - The OC was a utility that owed me $ (nice when that happens), they were to take a reading, subtract which ever from the other that we owed on our current bill and would either send us a refund or bill us for the correct amount. That was 2 years ago and we never heard from them. Now it's been assigned to the one and only CA in this town (small IN town). At some point and time, not only did we never get a credit, they went for a judgment on money that we don't owe. Being so small town, I'll fax the request to the court and see what they produce. However, won't the court records show just that - the judgment we already know about now? I guess I'm asking how this will help? Also, in while waiting on this, should I write the OC and the CA and ask for validation? This is SO frustrating! Thanks LB!!! Shanyl
